Cigarette Prices Hiked Again: Gold Flake Premium Now ₹135 Per Pack

New Delhi, September 23, 2026: Cigarette prices have been increased again, with ITC raising the price of its Gold Flake Premium brand, according to dealer checks reported by NDTV Profit.

The price of a 10-cigarette pack has increased from ₹125 to ₹135, marking an increase of about 8% in the latest revision.

This is the second price hike for Gold Flake Premium this year. In June, the price had already risen from ₹115 to ₹125, an increase of around 8.7%.

With both revisions combined, the price of a 10-cigarette pack has risen from ₹115 to ₹135, making Gold Flake Premium about 17.4% more expensive this year.

Higher taxes behind price increases

The latest increase comes as cigarette manufacturers continue to pass on the impact of higher taxes introduced earlier this year. From February 1, 2026, cigarettes moved to a 40% GST rate, along with a new additional excise-duty structure. The additional duty varies depending on factors such as cigarette length and whether the cigarette is filtered.

Other ITC cigarette brands also become costlier

ITC has also increased prices across several other cigarette brands.

Classic Connect (20 cigarettes): ₹390 → ₹428, an increase of about 9.74%.

Gold Flake Super Star (10 cigarettes): ₹79 → ₹89, an increase of about 12.66%.

Earlier in February, Classic Connect had increased from ₹300 to ₹360 and subsequently to ₹390, while Gold Flake Super Star had risen from ₹59 to ₹70.

The latest revisions mean smokers of several ITC brands are now paying significantly more than they did at the beginning of 2026.
