Bangladesh crisis: 115 killed, Nearly 1,000 Indian students return from Bangladesh.

Dhaka: Nearly 1,000 Indian students have returned from Bangladesh as violent protests have resulted in 115 deaths. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has helped 998 students return safely. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka and other local offices are assisting over 4,000 remaining students. Security escorts have been arranged, and flights are being coordinated to ensure safe travel.

The protests in Dhaka began over government job quotas, which allocate 30% of jobs to families of independence fighters. Although these quotas were removed in 2018, a court reinstated them, causing anger among young people facing high unemployment. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government has imposed a curfew and deployed the military. Most deaths have been due to police actions. Amnesty International has condemned the government's response to the protests.
