PM to Inaugurate ₹2,400 Crore Z-Morh Tunnel in Ganderbal on January 13

Srinagar: Prime Minister will visit Kashmir on January 13 for the third time in a decade. The visit has placed Ganderbal under high security as preparations are underway for the inauguration of the ₹2,400 crore Z-Morh Tunnel in Gagangeer, Sonamarg. The tunnel, a significant infrastructure project, is expected to play a key role in improving connectivity to the picturesque Sonamarg region.

The Z-Morh Tunnel will ensure year-round accessibility to Sonamarg, a vital tourist destination that remains cut off during harsh winters. Officials highlight that the tunnel is not only an engineering marvel but also a step toward enhancing the region’s tourism potential, which is a crucial economic driver for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the government’s focus on infrastructure development in Jammu & Kashmir. The project is part of broader efforts to promote regional development and integration by addressing connectivity challenges in the region. Locals and stakeholders have welcomed the initiative, expecting a boost in economic activities and employment opportunities.
