Srinagar, January 2 – In a heart-wrenching incident, two young siblings lost their lives in a devastating fire that broke out in a residential shed in Ferozpora, Tangmarg, Baramulla district on Thursday.
Local sources reported that the fire engulfed the wooden shed belonging to Mohammad Ashraf Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, during the afternoon hours. The tragic event unfolded while the children’s mother had stepped out to buy vegetables.
Upon her return, she found the structure in flames. Despite the swift response from neighbors attempting a rescue, the fire had already claimed the lives of the minors by the time help arrived.
The victims were identified as Mina Ashraf, aged 4, and her younger sibling Muntazir Ashraf, who was only 3 months old.
Police officials have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. The community has been left in shock and mourning over the heartbreaking loss.
