The resolution, presented by Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. Lawmakers emphasized that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute is essential for long-term peace and stability in South Asia.
The assembly strongly condemned India's actions in the region, particularly the revocation of Article 370 in 2019, which stripped Kashmir of its special status. It also highlighted alleged human rights violations, calling upon the international community to intervene.
“This resolution reflects the collective voice of Pakistan in support of the Kashmiri people's right to decide their own future,” Muqam stated. “We urge the global community, especially the United Nations, to ensure the implementation of its resolutions on Kashmir.”
The resolution comes at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, with Islamabad continuing to call for diplomatic engagement on the Kashmir issue. India, however, maintains that Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter and rejects any external intervention.
Pakistan has vowed to raise the Kashmir issue on international platforms, urging global leaders to press India for compliance with UNSC resolutions. The passing of this resolution signals Pakistan’s firm stance on Kashmir and its commitment to advocating for Kashmiri rights on the global stage.
