BSF jawan abducted, tied and filmed by Bangladeshi nationals, freed after flag meet

On Wednesday morning, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan stationed at the Chandni Chowk border post in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, was abducted by Bangladeshi nationals.
The incident occurred while the jawan was questioning a group suspected of attempting infiltration. He was forcibly taken into Bangladesh, where he was tied up and filmed. Following a prompt flag meeting between Indian and Bangladeshi border officials, the jawan was successfully rescued and returned. Authorities have since initiated a security review of the area to assess vulnerabilities, but several questions about the breach remain unanswered.

The abduction has raised concerns among residents of nearby villages, who fear for their safety due to frequent incidents of loitering by miscreants near the border.
