Srinagar, Aug 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on Sunday cancelled the OMR-based written examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) in the Power Development Department following reports of a paper leak.
Sources revealed that the examination paper was allegedly leaked at the Kothibagh Srinagar examination centre. Shockingly, the paper was accessible to some individuals around five minutes before the commencement of the exam, raising serious concerns over the integrity of the process.
Following the leak, aspirants staged protests demanding strict action against those involved and urged the authorities to ensure transparency in future recruitment examinations.
JKSSB, in its statement, confirmed the cancellation and assured that a fresh date for the rescheduled examination would be announced soon.
This incident has added to the frustration of candidates, many of whom have been preparing for months. The board is now under pressure to investigate the matter thoroughly and restore the faith of aspirants in the recruitment process.
