Saudi Arabia Announces $368 Million Aid Package to Support Yemen’s Economy and Reconstruction

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has pledged a new economic assistance package worth SR 1.38 billion (US$368 million) to Yemen, reaffirming its commitment to stabilizing the war-torn nation.
The support, announced under directives from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will be delivered through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen. It includes budget support, financing of petroleum derivatives, and covering operational costs of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden.

Saudi officials said the initiative is aimed at strengthening Yemen’s economy, sustaining vital public services, and supporting government reforms. The Kingdom has consistently positioned itself as a leading donor for Yemen, contributing billions in humanitarian and development aid over the past decade.

The announcement comes at a crucial time as Yemen continues to face economic hardship alongside political instability, with international agencies warning of worsening humanitarian conditions.
