Srinagar, April 4: The killing of a man in an Army encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has triggered a political controversy, with the issue echoing in the Assembly and prompting demands for an impartial probe.
The deceased, identified as Rashid Ahmad Mughal, was killed during an anti-militancy operation. Security forces have maintained that he was a militant. However, his family has strongly disputed the claim, asserting that he was a civilian with no links to militancy.
