UP Man Arrested for Sharing Pro-Pakistan Video Claiming Rafale Jet Shot Down

Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh – May 12: A 27-year-old man from Mukrabpur village in Sambhal district has been arrested and sent to jail for allegedly sharing a controversial video on Facebook that praised Pakistan and falsely claimed that the Indian Air Force's Rafale jet was shot down by Pakistani forces.

According to Hazrat Nagar Garhi SHO Anuj Kumar Tomar, the accused, Jamaat Ali, was found circulating a video that not only made false claims about India's military capabilities but also depicted Pakistan in a glorifying light. The video suggested that Pakistan had downed a Rafale fighter jet and captured its pilot, a claim dismissed as misinformation by authorities.
Further investigation revealed that Ali had also liked and shared multiple videos supporting Pakistan on his Facebook profile.

Acting on a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Dheerendra Kumar, police registered a case against Ali under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with acts endangering the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India.

Ali was formally arrested and sent to jail on Sunday, police confirmed. The incident has raised concerns about the misuse of social media platforms to spread false narratives and sensitive content.
